I have installed Office Home & student 2007 on my laptop (UK). How do I know if it has installed correctly?
I inserted the disk but wasn't asked to enter the product "key"

Try using the package - you will be asked for the key then - and you will be prompted to register. You need an internet connection to register within 30 days, otherwise the package will lock and you will not get the full usage that you paid for. (This can be resolved with a phonecall to a Microsoft Call Centre)

go to start menu programs and search for ms-office

Open any office application (ie. Word, Excel, etc.), then click on the Office Symbol for the Main Menu, then Choose the Options button on the bottom right side of the Menu. In the next window select resources on the bottom left of the menu and on the right you will see Office Diagnostics appear. Running Office Diagnostics will confirm that Office is installed properly or not.
