UK - purchase a laptop, would i get WINDOWS 7 already installed in it?

UK - purchase a laptop, would i get WINDOWS 7 already installed in it?
or would i have to buy a WINDOWS 7 cd separately? as for example i want to buy a laptop and on the website it says operating system: windows vista home premium. unless they have not updated their websites and laptops

Windows 7 isn't out yet, but you should be entitled to a free upgrade if you get a Vista PC.

Hi, Windows 7 isn't on general release just yet so I very much doubt it. Contact the site and ask them, or wait a while and no doubt it will be. Arnak

Windows 7 retail version is not out in the stores, but you could contact the store if they offer a free upgrade from vista to windows 7 because all merchants offer free upgrade and they should offer too.

Many OEM's are currently offering a free upgrade to Windows 7 upon its widespread release on October 22. You'd need to confirm that whatever you're looking at is eligible and you then have to register for it (and likely pay a small shipping fee when it's sent to you). You can't buy a computer with Windows 7 pre-installed before October 22, nor can you find retail copies of the software before that date to buy separately.
