Answer 1 :
you'll need a different adapter to charge the laptop in the wall.
Answer 2 :
Your wifi will work fine, but your power adapter will need a converter to convert the 230v to 110v
Answer 3 :
You won't need a voltage converter like someone else wrote, because your power adapter is good for voltages between 100 and 240 volts. 110 V is used in the US. So, you'll only need a plug adapter. Go to your local electronics/electrical/travel supplies store (Tandy?) and ask for a plug adapter for the US and you should be set. It should be fairly inexpensive. Again, you don't need a voltage converter or transformer as your laptop's power adapter can already handle the mains voltage in the US. If you can't find a store in the UK, you should be able to find a plug adapter in the US too. Try Radio Shack or Brookstone. Wireless should work without any problems. There are no country-specific differences there.

Help buying a laptop in the UK?

Help buying a laptop in the UK?
I want a laptop for writing and internet surfing on the go, so I'm looking for something light and small. My husband and I have a good machine for gaming and more complicated computing, so something basic is fine, but it needs to be affordable and reliable. Any suggestions about what to buy or where to get a good deal? Also, our current laptop has Microsoft Office installed on it (we purchased it for download)- if I want to install it on the new machine, will we need to buy it again? Thanks for all your help!

Answer 1 :
search in ebay is the most website for sale
Answer 2 :
id recommend toshiba their small (15.4") budget satellite laptops will do the trick but if you want the extreme of small and light their portege R500 is the smallest and lightest laptop currently manufactured by any manufacturer but is relatively expensive at around £1000 microsoft office if you bought it for download the end user license agreement (EULA) will be for one computer only unless otherwise stated, so the answer to that would most likely be a no im afraid
Answer 3 :
TR Vidcom is offering a wide range of cost effective desktop and laptop computers. They offer flexible renting options too if you can't purchase one.
