What does OS mean in computer terms and how do you get a UK game to work on a US laptop?
I bought a game from amazon called The Movies Expansion pack but it won't work on my computer. The back of the box says its from the UK and the screen always tells me access denied. Seller believes it should work. I do have the first game.

Answer 1 :
OS = Operating System Your OS refers to whether you're running Windows or a MacOS which is what runs on Apple computers. There's quite a few other lesser-known operating systems such as Unix and Linux.
Answer 2 :
OS is operating system, like windows XP, or vista, or mac
Answer 3 :
OS means operating system but i dont no the i=othe 1
Answer 4 :
OS stands for operating system. 1. Some games require that you have updated drivers for both video and sound. If you haven't yet updated those drivers, give that a try. 2. Do you have any other cd/dvd rom drives you can try using? Your cd/dvdrom may be failing and causing the errors when the game is unable to read the data from the disk in the drive. 3. UAC (User Access Control) is also an issue. If you enable or disable UAC after the game was installed, the game won't run properly. Enabling or disabling UAC changes the location of where files are stored. So if you installed with UAC enabled, make sure you leave it enabled for when you play the game. 4. Sometimes laptops video drivers just aren't compatible with certain games. If thats the case there really isn't anything you can do about it. 5. Try running the game in compatibility mode for XP. Why dont you try to reinstall the game? it might fix it.

if you know a bit about electronics you could buy a stepup transformer that creates 220v out of 120v.

(UK) Looking to buy a laptop on a budget?
(UK) Looking to buy a laptop on a budget?
I am willing to spend up to £400, no more than that. I want a laptop for everyday tasks, Music and maybe Sims 3 on normal settings without too much lag if thats possible. Up and til now, I have been using an out-of-date Dell laptop which did what I wanted it too for the most part, I just want to upgrade now. Any links would be great as long as its a UK website, thanks!
