would a PC game purchased in the UK work on a laptop purchased in America?

HeHe, yes ofcause. As long as it has an operating installed that the game supports which is always Windows. So just check if it has windows installed & install it if it is not. Also I forgot about system requirements (cpu,graphics card etc...)
